Behind The Scenes
Meet Frank Nefos
Frank is a devout follower of Christ, a husband and father. He is passionate about teaching and helping others. We caught up with Frank and this is what he had to say about Pamoza International.
Tell us a little about yourself. What is your family background? What are your interests?
My name is Frank Nefos: follower of Jesus, husband, father, and teacher! I grew up in the church and do not remember a time where faith was not an important part of my life. I grew up in Boston and moved to Pennsylvania when I was 10 so that my father could take a job in the fire department in Reading.
I graduated from Conestoga Christian School and attended Eastern University where I received my degrees in Elementary Education and Political Science. I teach 6th grade World Geography in the West Chester Area School District where I have been since 2002.
My wife Emily and I got married in 2007 after she spent a number of year in the DR Congo teaching. We have three wonderful children: Zach (13), Maggie (11), and Luke (4). They are the joys of my life!!!
I love travelling and seeing our wonderful world! I have been fortunate to visit 65 countries, including Malawi, on four continents. I love being outside. (running, skiing, playing with my kids).
How did you get connected to Pamoza and how are you currently involved?
My relationship with Pamoza predates Pamoza. We have been recycling used ink cartridges and cell phones as a part of a partnership since I came to the West Chester School District in 2002.
Dr. Mtika met a former colleague of mine and shared about Malawi. When I came to West Chester, I got involved in the recycling efforts and that has continued for over 20 years.
What keeps you engaged and what makes you smile the most?
I love seeing my students make connections!!! This puts the biggest smile on my face!
What impact has your Christian faith had in your life?
My Christian faith is my everything! Everything I do, I try to do through the lens of Jesus!
What is the greatest need you see in the communities that Pamoza serves and what do you think is the best solutio

As an educator, I am a firm believer in education.
I believe that the more education people have, the better off they are!
What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
I can jump double Dutch!
What unique skills or talents has God gifted you with that you would like to use to help others?
I feel I am friendly and can talk to anyone!!! My wife jokes that I can talk to anyone about anything!
How can we pray for you?
Please pray that I can continue to be a light in my school!
