One of our goals at Pamoza is to support promising students—but with limited funds, we sometimes face heartbreaking choices.
Take Ackson, for example. He first reached out in 2018 for medical school tuition at one of Malawi’s most selective universities. At the time, we were not serving his community; we had to say no.
Ackson didn’t give up. After two years of relying on loans, he came to us again in 2020, as Pamoza expanded (thanks to supporters like you). This time, we finally said YES. How could we not when his entire annual tuition for medical school in Malawi was just $1,000!
Our donors covered his remaining costs. This perseverance paid off: in December 2024, he earned his dual Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery. Today, Dr. Ackson Kawamba is interning at Mzuzu Central Hospital, bringing healing and hope to his community.
