Major Mkhala Family

Major Mkhala (49) and his wife Grace (32) have sons Wisdom (16), Lameck (9), and Chawanangwa (1) and daughters Mickness (14) and Catherine (10). Major and Grace live in a brick-walled, grass-thatched, and clay-floored house.

Transformation Plan

Major and Grace dream of growing enough food to feed their family for a whole year. They also dream of building an iron-roofed, cement-floored house. This household can attain food security if they are helped with fertilizer and improved seed. If they could harvest enough crops they could sell the surplus, generating income for their use. Pamoza will expose Major and Grace to the Gospel and will work with them on character development. Pamoza will also provide information for Major and Grace related to hygiene and health care as well as income-generating activities. Pamoza will urge the couple to improve their children’s educational opportunities.
