Betty Kumwenda Family

Betty Kumwenda (30) is married to Lovemore Chisambi (36). Lovemore went to South Africa for migrant work, he has not returned, and he does not send any income home. Betty is raising their daughter Sonia (12) and their sons Respect (9) and Abig (4) alone. She lives in a brick-walled, iron-roofed, and cement-floored house built some time back when Lovemore sent some income home.

Transformation Plan

Betty wants to make sure that she has enough food to last a whole year instead of only 4 months as is currently the case. She also wants her children to do well in school. Pamoza will work with Betty to attain food security and will disciple her in her faith in Christ. Pamoza will also work with Betty to improve her income and her family’s health as well as encourage them to pursue education seriously.
